I hope this newsletter reaches you in good health, well what a 2013/14 we have had! Hopefully with Spring around the corner the sun will be back out again and all this rain will go away.
The sun and warmth of August seems a distant dream away, I decided to take a road trip to Derby, just me, my car, my tent and bike. Those that know me, know that I love being outdoors so staying at three different camp sites was perfect for me. I spent my time visiting National Trust sites, where I had some great walks. I also went out for some nice bike rides, taking in the brilliant country side. I was so lucky with the weather and had no rain for the whole week. So if you fancy a cheap holiday, get your tent and bike out....there are so many places to see. I certainly plan more camps for this Spring and Summer...not as mad as my son who decided to go camping in November when it was -1 and very wet!

I ended the year with a lunch time christmas meal with my lovely Horsham Aqua ladies at Stradas there was twenty of us so the restaurant did really well feeding us all at the same time! A big thank you goes to Lesley my social secretary and Ann for booking and arranging the restaurant, it is really appreciated .
After my last Aqua and Pilates classes of the year at Steyning leisure centre, I arranged for a social gathering where fellow class participants could get to know each other better. This went down really well, as there is never enough time after a class to catch up with each other.
So what is new for 2014? Aqua Natal classes at Pavilions Horsham on a Tuesday at 12.30 are going well, this is the only class in a large area that offers water exercise for mothers to be. There is no need to book,
so spread the word. I have a mixed ability drop in Pilates class at Southwater Leisure Centre on a Thursday at 1.30pm. There are Pilates classes to suit mixed ability/60 plus and remedial clients (those with health issues that effect them doing exercise) held at Sullington village hall on a Monday 1.30pm/2.40pm/3.50pm.

On 6th February I sadly lost a very good friend to cancer, she was looked after by St Barnabas Hospice in Worthing. I will be arranging an Aqua workout class to raise funds for this amazing place that runs purely on donations, it will be held in memory of Dawn Longdon a real fighter. So keep a look out for the date, it would be lovely to have you there.
At the end of February I will be working along side Horsham District Council providing low impact and Pilates based exercise classes for weight loss and obesity at Forest boys school, I am looking forward to this new project.
This year I will be looking at increasing my knowledge at specialist health issues and exercise, starting with intervention for obesity and diabetes in May. I would also like to learn more about neurotically conditions such as MS, and Parkinson's as well as strokes and fall prevention.... but that will have to wait until next year. In March I will be continuing with updating my knowledge and skills with STOTT Pilates workshops based in London, learning new and different aspects of this amazing and quite magical form of exercise that is suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
I will be attending St Catherine's midnight walk again this year, which is being held on Saturday 28th June. If you would like to join me go onto this link;
